Gate devices

Who can do this

gate-device:read / gate-device:create. Administration → Devices → Gate Devices.

Gate devices are the readers physically installed at a barrier — the P30 RSU that reads OBUs on vehicles, and the RFID reader that reads personnel cards. These are what produce automatic crossings.

The page counts devices, active and inactive, then groups the rows by gate, each gate carrying its own count and pagination.

Adding a device

Field	Notes
Gate *	Which gate the unit is installed at.
Device type *	P30 RSU (vehicle OBUs) or RFID reader (personnel cards).
Identifier *	The unit's own name. A readable convention like TANGI-RSU-01 pays off when you are diagnosing a gate by phone.
IP address / Port	Where the unit sits on the gate network.
Direction	Entry, Exit or Both ways — which crossings this reader records.
Lane	Free text for multi-lane gates.
Status	Active or inactive.

The ⋮ menu on a device row lets you edit or remove it.

This page is what the Gate Monitor reports

The P30 and RFID chips on the Gate Monitor are derived from this registry: green where a device of that type is registered here and marked active, not configured where none is.

They report configuration, not liveness. A green chip does not mean the unit is answering right now — TPAS has no hardware health signal (see Gates in service). This page is the place to confirm what is actually installed at a gate.
